We are pleased to announce that the call for nominations for the 2023 Director of the Year Awards is now open. This prestigious event recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to their respective boards’ direction, strategy, and corporate social responsibility. We invite you to nominate a deserving director today.

It is important to note that the awards do not recognize the management contribution of the recipient, but rather their contribution to the board. The categories for the 2023 event include.

  • Director of the Year for Large and Listed Companies
  • Small and Medium-sized Enterprises
  • State-Owned Enterprises and Parastatals
  • NGOs and Civil Society Organizations
  • Woman Director of the Year
  • Young Director of the Year (aged 35 or younger)
  • CEO of the Year, Chairman of the Year

Individual categories (New)

  • Best Diverse Company
  • Board of the Year
  • Report of the Year.

The selection of the winners is made by an adjudication panel consisting of experts in several fields, including corporate governance, economics and business development, and social responsibility. The judging criteria will be based upon a director evaluation system developed by the Institute of Directors in London. Ms. Susan Mutangadura, a Fellow member of the Institute and former IoDZ Chairman, is the Chairman of the adjudication panel.
